Pierre Frediere moved to California in 1984 to attend U.C. Berkeley Graduate School of Business Administration where he received his MBA in 1986. Born in Lyon, France Pierre first visited the US with his family when he was nine years old. Before moving to the US, Pierre received a Bachelor and Master in English and German, and also completed his military service in the 6th Battalion of Alpine Troops, 2nd Combat Company “Vercors”, Commanding Section, where he was mortar team leader and responsible for the company’s armory. After graduation, Pierre joined a San Francisco based investment advisory firm as a securities analyst and was promoted to portfolio manager three months later. During his tenure in the investment management industry, he obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst designation (1990), a three-year program focused on investment analysis (for further information, visit www.cfainstitute.org) and has been a member of the Chartered Financial Analysts Institute (formerly the Association for Investment Management and Research) and the CFA Society of San Francisco ever since. After the 1989 San Francisco earthquake, Pierre joined Wells Fargo Bank, working as a senior analyst in the Management Sciences Department at the Headquarters downtown San Francisco. The Department four core duties were Pricing, Mergers and Acquisition, Asset/Liability Management, and Financial Consulting to all bank departments. While there, he worked on various projects including a $125 Million real estate development for the Bank’s portfolio, performance reporting for the Bank’s Business Retirement Programs division, $45 million debt restructuring for Squaw Valley, the First Interstate Bank acquisition, as well as daily pricing of all bank’s asset and deposit products. On the advice of his wife’s Pam, a marketing rep at the Shearson regional headquarters in San Francisco, Pierre joined the investment firm of Dean Witter Reynolds (now Morgan Stanley) to become a financial consultant. He obtained his investment securities and life insurance licenses and was also the first trainee to obtain a 100% score in the product knowledge test administered by the firm since the thirties. He opened 400 accounts in the 18 months he worked at Dean Witter, but had to leave for France when his father was diagnosed with cancer. Pierre returned to the San Francisco Bay Area after the passing of his father’s and became Director of Research for a minority-owned investment firm. He serviced institutional accounts including TIAA-CREF, CalPers, University of California Endowment, University of Texas Endowment, the Bank of Ireland and several other large institutional investors. Pierre relocated to Fresno in 1995 and continued his investment research duties telecommuting with San Francisco, until the establishment of Compass Financial Group, Inc. in 1997. Since then, he has been putting many homeowners in their first home, and help real estate investors with their financing needs.
